With the Fantasy Faire just around the corner—it opens April 23rd!—it is time to take to the high seas and sail in search of these mystical lands. While I am not teasing any Fantasy Faire releases just yet (but soon!), I wanted to get into full fantasy mode in preparation for what’s to come. To that end, I climbed the rigging of Rustica’s Neptune’s Revenge wearing a fanciful new dress from deviousMind and fabulous new boots from lassitude & ennui.
Yesterday, the inaugural round of Hullabazoo opened. I think they have done an excellent job of describing their event on their page, so I am going to quote them:
“HullabaZoo is all about animals and creatures. It’s more than a shopping event and will have classes, a quest, contests, photo ops, parties, and more. Best of all we’re raising money for a great cause! HullabaZoo is an annual event and we would love it to become the BIGGEST creature event of the year - one that you look forward to, get excited about and look forward to it’s return each year!
HullabaZoo isn’t a mainstream fashion event with an “animals” theme so you won’t find zebra-print nails, or paw print T’shirts for human avatars. You will find creature avatars, pets, rideables, props and mods as well as accessories and mods for those creatures.”
The chosen charity for the 2020 event is the Jane Goodall Institute. I’ve only had time for a quick visit so far, but it looks like a great setup and I am really interested in checking some of the things they are planning before the event ends on March 31st. During that quick visit, however, I had time to check out the new Dressage System from Mythril and that is what this post (and, more importantly, video) is all about.
I think “short” may be an understatement when it comes to the Kayo dress from Voluptas Virtualis, available at the current round of Anthem. It is, however, excellent for showing off your legs and thus anything worn on them, like a pair of sexy, high-heeled boots like these from lassitude & ennui. The dress certainly doesn’t do a shabby job of showing off the rest of you either, one has to add, especially not when worn with Slink Hourglass (it is also available for Belleza Freya and Maitreya Lara)
I am completely enamoured with buying accessories for my Teeglepets right now. There are so many cool add-ons! Like this fabulous Norse Gods tack set from Jinx, newly adapted for the Clydesdale, and of course the Luxury mane and tail (also for the Clydesdale) from Mythril. I wanted to do a real sword & sorcery photo with my extra fancy Clydesdale, so I dressed the part using a set from lassitude & ennui and setup a background using the Stalker Castle from Fanatik as well as rocks from their 2018 collection. Speaking of Fanatik, don’t miss their sale! Up to 50% on many items and it ends tomorrow.
I do love an opportunity to bring my Teeglepet animesh horses into my photos. It isn’t always easy and I am waiting eagerly for more poses and animations made for posing with your horse, because it can be tricky to make a good composition without that. In this case, I used one of the built-in horse & rider poses and then a couple of stand-alone poses for myself with the horse looking pretty in the background in the new Dapple Rose coat from Cinnamon. This is a new release for Redeux (which just opened) and is available for both Teegle (pets and the avatar) and Water Horse a 25% off during the event.
This past weekend, Fanatik released two new builds. I’ve done a video tour of the largest of them, the fantastic Quinta Palace. At 375 prims and 52 x 52 meters it is not something you easily tuck away on a small parcel. However, if you have the space for it, it would make a wonderful centrepiece of a sim. This beautifully crafted and textured build is inspired by the Quinta de Bacalhoa palace in Portugal. In the video, I walk through the two levels to give you a good look at the whole palace. I have also included some pictures below and of course the credits to what I am wearing in the video.
It is almost time for the October round of La vie en pose (it opens on the 10th and runs until the 25th) and it will be offering you plenty of fall-themed poses, props and backdrops. I went for another occult-themed setup myself using poses from WetCat, a backdrop from Cubic Cherry and decor from Dark Secrets. But it all started with the fabulous Bellatrix outfit from Velvet Whip and Faida, which I accessorized with rings from lassitude & ennui and a hair from Wasabi. I think the end result has something of a “sexy superhero witch” vibe.
After a bit of a break during the summer, it is time for a new vlog, this time to show off the fully furnished version of Dutchie’s New Amsterdam houseboat. This is a fantastic creation, inspired by an actual houseboat created in 1900 and still in use today. The houseboat is a full-featured house with bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom and the furnished version comes with a great collection of mid-century furnishings made to fit within the houseboat. But of course, if you get the furnished version, you can also use the furnishings in other houses as well. If you would rather have just the unfurnished houseboat, that is available too.
In the video below, I show a walk-through of the houseboat, fully setup with the furniture package. I have also included eight photos of different parts of the interior, to give a sense of both the style of the furnishings and of how much actually fits into the houseboat. It really is a full-fledged house! At the end, I have credits for what I am wearing during this video.
Sometimes, it is best to plan your revenge carefully. Why not while lounging comfortable in bed, for example? The Revenge dress from lassitude & ennui for We Love Role-Play initially had me looking a “tougher” poses, but then I tried out this set from Diversion for La vie en pose and this one caught my eye. After all, revenge is supposed to be a dish best served cold, and then you’ll have plenty of time to plan and contemplate how to go about it.
You never know what you will find when you step inside of a fairy ring. It might be best to bring a friendly imp along—but keep in mind that imp’s love mischief!
The fairy ring is by Roawenwood and both the hair and the dress are new releases for the July round of We Love Role-Play, from the Dreaming Thicket and Velvet Whip & Faida. The imp is an earlier gacha release by lassitude & ennui.
In the evening, when the worst heat has faded, the market comes to life.
The scene came about as I wanted to showcase the pretty market stalls from Paper Moon for We Love Role-Play. Then, as so often is the case, it drew a little inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire, again using the Dany hair from Wasabi together with a dress from lassitude & ennui which was available at Enchantment’s Iron Throne round. To that I added new jewellery from the Plastik from Collabor88 and I picked up a beautiful new coat applier for my Teeglepets to let them have a cameo as well.
I started this post two days ago, but then my connection was acting up and I couldn’t upload any images, which made for a rather boring post! Yesterday, I spent most of the day at a dog show and was absolutely knackered when I came home. But after a good night’s sleep (squeezed in between our two boxers), I am ready to tackle it again. While Game of Thrones may be over, A Song of Ice and Fire and the world of Westeros continue on and continue making up a large part of my work. Which of course means it will continue to inspire me in Second Life. In this piece, I combine elements from Enchantment and Final Winter.
I know a lot of people have several alts that they use regularly in Second Life, often with each alt having a distinct look and personality. Since my main account does not have a set look but is quite the chameleon, I have never felt the need for an alt for that reason. I do have one alt that owns the Teegle Bento Horse Avatar, so that it can be in photos with my main avatar, but that’s about it.
Occasionally, however, something comes along that makes you wish you had an alt or two that actually owned something other than a starter avatar outfit. The Mid-Century Daybed from Dutchie is such an item. You see, it comes in three versions: PG, Femdom Fetish and Femdom Fetish + Cuckold. The last one, as the name suggests, requires three avatars, one female and two male. Unfortunately, that meant that a video was out of the question, even for the less explicit of the animations. Instead, I had to do multiple shots of each animation and combine the results. This also limited which animations I could use since I couldn’t have all three avatars touching at the same time.
So what you see in these four shots is just a small taste of what’s on offer in the daybed. The first one is taken with the PG version (which includes 10 male and 10 female solo animations), the next two use the Couples menu (which technically only requires two avatars) from the Fetish + Cuckold version and the final uses the actual Cuckold menu where all animations are for three avatars. There are 90 couple animations with an emphasis on foot or nylon fetishism and there are 70 threesome animations. All the versions of the daybed have the AVsitter experience enabled for auto attaching of props and all animations have bento hand poses, There are also bento facial animations for the adult animations and the adult versions are also Aeros compatible for automatic tilting.
I have so much more to show from the Fantasy Faire, but I can’t (completely) neglect everything else while it goes on. For example, this little lingerie number from Voluptas Virtualis was really begging to be shown off together with these new heels from lassitude & ennui. However, I did add a touch of fantasy in the shape of a new jewellery set by the Plastik which is available at the Fantasy Faire.
I used to do most of my photos on other sims than my own, but the hunt for locations got tedious and now I have been using mainly my own builds for several years. For this post, however, I ventured to the lovely Looking Glass sim where I found just the right sort of environment to show off the beautiful dress and jewellery by lassitude & ennui.
